Kailzie Fishery

The Finest Fishery In The Scottish Borders

Situated next to the River Tweed, nestled in the beautiful Border hills Kailzie Fishery provides the perfect environment for the angler.

The fishery is  2 acres. The average depth is 12 feet and is burn fed. The fishery is stocked daily to maintain a good head of trout at all times. The fish consist of top quality Triploid and Blue Rainbows starting at 2 lbs and going  up to double figures.  The current overall record at the  fishery is a 22lbs Rainbow Trout landed in 1998 by Edward Williamson. But the record since Jimmy took over the fishery stands at 17.5 lbs by Joe Dodds in September 2013.

Kailzie Fishery caters for all types of anglers from beginners to experts. The preferred flies for the winter months are Orange Fritz, Viva, Cats Whisker and Ace Of Spades. During the spring the fish will be attracted to Tadpoles and Damsels. In the summer buzzers and Daddies, on the surface. These flies can be bought at the fishery, tied on hand by experienced fly tiers.

During the winter intermediate, or sink tip, lines are the best to use.

Tuition and advice is available enabling anyone to come and enjoy a good days fishing
